Head of the Judiciary: An efficient judiciary can prevent and deter crimes and violations of rights
This morning (Wednesday, January 19), Mohseni Ejei, the head of the judiciary, arrived in Gilan Province as part of a high-level judicial delegation on his 37th provincial visit since taking office.
The Chief of the Judiciary and other senior judicial officials will plan activities to address the legal and judicial concerns and issues of the Gilan Province's citizens while they are there.
Mohseni Ejei, in a speech to the judges and employees of the judicial system of Gilan province, stated: Judicial work is a serious and voluminous matter. The high volume of work and the difficulties we face in performing our duties should not prevent us from providing the desired services to the people for a moment.
The head of the judiciary said: I acknowledge that there are many problems, but we must all appreciate the selfless service to the people in the legal and judicial stronghold.
The head of the judiciary clarified: Our actions and the goodness of our character in dealing with the people have a much greater impact than our rulings; in the early seventies, a woman whose husband was a non-Muslim and was in prison for committing a crime approached the judicial authority where I served, and although her husband's case was not in my branch, I guided her to advance her husband's case due to my human duties; A few years passed and the same woman returned to my place of service and presented me with a sealed letter from her husband, who was on his deathbed. In the letter, the non-Muslim man had announced that he had converted to Islam and had recited the Shahadah. However, my intention in mentioning this example was that our behavior and good manners with our clients can have extraordinary effects.
The Chief Justice stated: A properly functioning, independent, and efficient judiciary can prevent many crimes and violations of rights.
The Chief Justice emphasized: We, the officials and agents, must look at the issues comprehensively; for example, in this same province of Gilan, if we only have concern for the environment and prevent the implementation of development and industrial projects, problems will arise for the people; conversely, if we neglect the environment, damage will be caused; Therefore, we must look at issues comprehensively and not take a partial view.
