Baghaei: Iran acts decisively in defending its territory
At the beginning of the meeting, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while commemorating the anniversary of the martyrdom of General Soleimani, said: Martyr Soleimani was a hero in the fight against terrorism.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman stated that our position on Syria has been clear since the beginning of the developments, and stated: "We respect the choice of the Syrians."
He added: "In his latest position, Araqchi also issued a meaningful message, addressing his friends in the Arab League, regional countries, and Syria, explaining why Iran seeks stability and peace in Syria."
In response to Mizan's question about the UN General Assembly's request to the International Court of Justice for an advisory opinion on the Zionist regime's violation of its obligations and Iran's position on this issue, Baghaei, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said: "This advisory opinion is one of several advisory opinions that have been requested from the International Court of Justice regarding the violation of the Zionist regime's obligations, especially during this 15-month period. After the revocation of the license of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), a wave of protest arose at the international level, because the agency's activities have been purely humanitarian and have been helping Palestinian refugees in several countries for decades. Therefore, the international community did not accept this issue from the beginning."
He added: "The way that seemed to be the way for a number of countries was to resort to the International Court of Justice; the request for an opinion is for the Court to give an opinion on the type and quality of the Zionist regime's violation of its obligations in relation to its obligations to cooperate with international organizations."
Baghaei noted: "This request for a vote was the product of a vote and resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, to which the Islamic Republic of Iran also voted in favor; our intention is to participate in the various stages of considering this request."
Referring to the fact that the US claims against Iran are a gross violation of international law, the spokesman for the diplomatic service said: This issue is specifically a threat against a country's nuclear facilities and a violation of Resolution 533 of the Board of Governors, and a threat to international peace and security.
He emphasized: This issue, along with other anti-Iranian statements by the US Democratic government, is a disgrace to themselves; this government, as the most reckless US government, is trying to dictate its failed methods to the next US government; Iran and its people have shown that they will act decisively and with all means in defending their territory and dignity.
