Head of Judiciary: Great academics and thinkers of religions ought to communicate more
Hojatoleslam Wal Muslimin Mohseni Ejei, during a meeting with representatives of the Armenian and Assyrian community (religious and Islamic Consultative Assembly) of the country, while congratulating the birth of Jesus Christ and the arrival of the New Year, stated: Without a doubt, if any of the great divine prophets, including Jesus Christ (PBUH), were living in the present era, they would have reacted harshly and severely to the atrocious crimes of the Zionists in Gaza and the silence and comprehensive support of some Western countries for these crimes; the Zionists have been committing every crime in Gaza for more than a year and do not hesitate to kill infants and the sick.
Stating that all the great divine prophets pursued a single and common goal, the head of the judiciary said: "Scholars and thinkers of religions should increase the level and extent of their conversations, discussions, and interactions and find the right path for the happiness of mankind, and after finding the right path, do not show bias and rigidity in adopting and advancing that path. All the great divine prophets pursued a single and common goal; God did not convey two or more different messages to mankind through messengers; the destination, which is the happiness of mankind, is the same and the methods are also specific and definite; all the divine prophets have forbidden mankind from approaching sin, crime, and oppression; all the prophets have emphasized moral goodness and virtues; if scholars and thinkers of religions achieve this understanding, then it will be very easy for us to have one type of laws, one type of governance, and one type of life in many subjects. "
The head of the judiciary continued, referring to the advantages of peace and reconciliation in lawsuits, and said: The Armenian and Assyrian communities of the country should provide mechanisms related to the development of a culture of peace and reconciliation among themselves and should pay attention to diversifying these mechanisms; for example, they should create a special mechanism that, when two Christian businessmen encounter problems with each other, they can establish peace and reconciliation between them as much as possible before going to court; without a doubt, the positive effects of this are much greater than resolving lawsuits through court rulings. The judiciary will also provide the necessary assistance and support to the country's Christian community in this regard.
The head of the judiciary clarified: You, the representatives of the country's Christian community, should compile lists of Christians who have cases in the judiciary, separating the subject of their cases and whether they are in prison or not, and raise their issues in your series of meetings with the competent judicial authorities, so that judicial proceedings can be carried out in accordance with the law regarding their cases.
The Chief Justice said: "Our desire is that not even one person goes to prison; but in any case, some people commit crimes and injustices or violate the laws and inevitably face punishments such as being sent to prison; of course, our belief in the country's prison system is to reform the criminal and we have also prepared mechanisms related to this matter, and in the meantime, there is no difference between a Muslim or a Christian prisoner, and all convicts and prisoners have the conditions for reform and reintegration in our prisons.
The head of the judiciary said: Paying attention to the families of prisoners is also one of our priorities, and we also take special measures in this regard; a convicted person may be in a prison whose family may have trouble visiting him, so we have the possibility, in accordance with the regulations, to move that prisoner so that his family does not have to bother visiting him; In this regard, there is no difference between Muslim and Christian prisoners, and this rule is applicable to all eligible convicts.
The head of the judiciary clarified: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ (PBUH) and the New Year, we issued an order granting 5-day leave to eligible Christian convicts; it should be noted here that many of these Christian prisoners were on leave before this order was issued, so we announced that this 5-day leave will be added to the leave previously applied to these prisoners; also, the leaves that are applied on various occasions, including Nowruz, will also include eligible Christian prisoners; in the standard and occasional pardons that have been applied, there is no distinction or difference in terms of the religion of eligible convicts, and these pardons will include all eligible convicts.
