Yahya Sinwar voted as Arab Personality of Year 2024

The Cairo-based news network reported on Tuesday that 300,000 people participated in the survey and responded to 15 questions about Sinwar.

According to the report, Yahya Sinwar was selected as the Arab Personality of the Year 2024 by 85% of the participants.

The most striking image of 2024, according to the participants, was a branded image of Sinwar fending off Israeli forces in his final moments.  

From August 2024 until his martyrdom on October 16 of the same year, Sinwar, a senior Hamas official, led the movement politically. While battling Israeli soldiers in Gaza, he was martyred.

After his predecessor, Ismail Haniyeh, was assassinated by the Israeli regime on July 31 in Tehran, Iran, Sinwar was selected as the political leader of Hamas. A day earlier, Haniyeh had traveled to Tehran to attend President Masoud Pezeshkian's inauguration.
