US shows no mercy even to its own pawns
Zelensky has claimed that a three-year war (the Russia-Ukraine war) cannot be ended with a few hours of negotiations and the conclusion of a resolution! The Ukrainian President made these remarks after his latest cold meeting with Trump.
However, the West's pawn in Kiev and Europe is obliged to follow solutions that he and his country have no role in formulating! This is the same choice that Zelensky has made since he was at the top of Ukraine's political and executive equations: absolute play on NATO's turf!
In actuality, NATO and its leaders, the Republican and Democratic parties in the United States, have merely made Kiev a battlefield for the Russians and themselves, never acknowledging the Ukrainians' uniqueness during the most recent conflict. Zelensky has also succumbed to this expensive and pointless game while being aware of the instrumentalist perspective of weak-willed pawns and agents that has been prevalent in American and European foreign policy for decades!
Zelensky's gamble is approaching its end point, which is failure. The blame game of the Ukrainian president and his entourage also has no power to interpret in such a hypertext and context, because from the beginning, Kiev entered the conflict scene with the same formula and command!
Zelensky's field has become more limited since Trump won the presidency because he must now sit at the final negotiating table with Moscow in a nation still reeling from three years of full-scale conflict and without any field accomplishments. Zelensky, Macron, and other European leaders are trying to persuade Trump to continue sending aid to Ukraine, even as the newly elected US president expresses his wish to help resolve the Ukrainian conflict.
Despite all of this, Trump is prepared to put himself and the Republican Party's interests ahead of the Western pawn in Kiev. Trump has made this decision and is unlikely to change it quickly. At the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, Trump recently visited Paris to attend the opening ceremony of Notre Dame Cathedral and met in trilateral talks with Macron and Volodymyr Zelensky. There was no joint statement released at the conclusion of this 20-minute trilateral meeting.
According to news reports, Trump treated Zelensky coldly during this meeting and showed no appreciation for their shared concerns. Following this meeting, the French president also voiced serious concerns about the future of the war in Ukraine and its conclusion (without any successes for NATO and Ukraine). The story's obvious message is that Zelensky will suffer the consequences of playing on Western soil in the most unpleasant manner possible, and he will also lose the right to voice his displeasure with the altered circumstances.
What was Zelensky's worst mistake?
Ukraine's predicament is not as intricate and multifaceted as it first appears! For Zelensky and his group, the equations of the war in Kiev have become more complex due to the change of power in Washington, and this equation cannot be solved! The worst news for the inept Ukrainian president is Trump's return to the White House.
In their meeting on the sidelines of this year's UN General Assembly in September, Trump gave Zelensky an explanation of how his stance on the war in Ukraine differs from that of the Democrats. The European Union's foreign minister, Josep Borrell, had also stressed before the US presidential election that Trump's win would eliminate any opportunity for Europeans to participate in and influence the war in Ukraine.
Not long ago, in a completely unfriendly phone call with Zelensky, Trump expressed his concerns about the war in Ukraine and its future. Some close associates of the US president-elect have strongly emphasized that Trump intends to finalize the operational roadmap for ending the war in Ukraine in consultation with Kiev and Moscow before his official appearance in the White House. In the meantime, it doesn't matter to Trump what Zelensky thinks or will think about this roadmap!
In this equation, Zelensky is nothing more than an audience! In essence, Zelensky was not supposed to have any control over the start or finish of the war from the moment he became a pawn in the Atlanticists' perilous game of "NATO expansion to the East"! Zelensky was so taken aback by promises like EU membership, North Atlantic Treaty membership, and concentrated Western investment in Kiev, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhya that he failed to see the most evident realities of his situation and his nation!
