Hospitals in Gaza have become death traps
UNRWA explained, in a post on X, that families in Gaza are torn apart, children are dying of cold, and hunger is cutting lives short. The agency demanded an immediate ceasefire in the Strip.
In a separate post, it said "humanitarian convoys have come under attack" in Gaza, making "aid delivery dangerous and difficult". UNRWA Director of Communications Juliette Touma added: "Gaza has become the most dangerous place to be a humanitarian worker. No one is safe in Gaza; no place is safe."
UNRWA’s statements come in light of the ongoing bombing and direct targeting of hospitals by Israeli occupation forces, in an effort to eliminate the health system in the north and south of the Strip.
Rights groups and UN experts have warned that Israel is carrying out a genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza.
