Iran dismisses reports of embassy evacuation in Syria
Esmail Baghaei, the spokesman for Iran's foreign ministry, has denied reports that the Islamic Republic's embassy employees in Syria have been evacuated.
Mizan -
Reports that the Iranian Embassy in Damascus, the capital of Syria, was evacuated are false, Baghaei said on Saturday, adding that the diplomatic mission is carrying on with its regular operations.
Reports on Friday said that Iran had begun evacuating its diplomatic staff and their families earlier in the day amid fighting in Syria, where government forces are battling terrorist groups.
