Entire Region Facing Threat, Iran’s FM Warns
Araqchi stated in an interview with Iraq's Al Sharqiya TV channel on Friday that the quick speed of events in Syria raises many questions. Pointing to a plot hatched by the US and the Israeli regime behind the developments in Syria, Araqchi said, “After Gaza, they went for Lebanon, and now they have gone for Syria. This will not be confined to Syria, as the whole region has been threatened.”
The Iranian minister pointed out that the United Nations has classified the armed rebels opposing the Damascus government as terrorist organizations.
He also lashed out at the self-proclaimed advocates of the fight against terrorism for remaining silent or supporting the armed militancy in Syria, saying they have apparently categorized the terrorists as good and bad.
Commenting on the conditions of the resistance front, Araqchi stated that resistance is not limited to a single approach, while there are various methods for resistance.
"The use of a variety of options has been a characteristic of resistance in recent years," he continued. Araqchi warned that the security of Iraq has also been threatened by the spread of terrorism from Syria.
"Although we cannot predict the future, the resistance will undoubtedly carry out its responsibilities. 14 years have gone by since the fall of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in 2011, which some had predicted would happen, " he continued.
