The morale of Ukrainian military personnel has been incredibly low
According to the Washington Post, which cited knowledgeable Ukrainian military sources, Ukrainian soldiers are growing weary of the conflict with Russia after roughly three years of fighting and are calling for talks and an end to it.
According to the American newspaper, Ukrainian soldiers now feel that this objective is no longer attainable, despite their earlier declaration that they were prepared to fight until all of the territories that they had given up to Russia were reclaimed.
"We used to talk about victory, but now the situation is ambiguous," the deputy commander of the Ukrainian army's mechanized division, "Kryl," which is based in the Dnepropetrovsk region, told the Washington Post. He underlined: "Ukrainian soldiers no longer have a positive morale. Their morale is steadily declining and deteriorating.
Regarding the situation on the front lines, Felix, another member of his unit, also stated: "We can't go on like this. The Russians are moving forward while we are retreating. What sort of triumph is that likely to occur? "
"Our soldiers want this war to end because they are so tired. Perhaps Trump, the US president-elect, can put an end to it if the Kiev authorities are unable to.
When he starts his second term, US President-elect Donald Trump has already pledged to swiftly find a diplomatic solution to the conflict in Ukraine. A group of Ukrainian soldiers, however, are now concerned that the new US government might stop providing military support to Kiev in order to pressure Ukraine into giving up territory to Russia as part of a future peace agreement, according to the Washington Post.
