52 deaths due to starvation in Gaza
The office stated: "Hunger and famine are spreading, and over one million children are at risk. Vital sectors in the Gaza Strip are collapsing amid the siege and shameful international silence."
According to Al Jazeera, the office warned: "We caution against the worsening humanitarian catastrophe due to the continued closure of crossings by the Israeli regime. Over 2.4 million people in the Gaza Strip face the risk of death from starvation. With 52 deaths from starvation and malnutrition, 50 of whom are children, hunger has become a stark reality."
In this context, Doctors Without Borders reported: "Since the resumption of the Gaza war, the number of people suffering from burns has increased. In our clinic in Gaza City, we treat over 100 burn patients daily. Since May 2024, we have performed over 1,000 surgeries for burn victims in Gaza, 70% of whom are children."
Meanwhile, the World Food Program announced: "Our warehouses in Gaza are completely depleted due to the ongoing closure of crossings." The agency added: "Today, we delivered our last aid to kitchens that are the only source of food in Gaza."
